On April 22, 2020, the New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation issued a Notice to the Bar addressing the Workers’ Compensation Court closings during the COVID-19 outbreak. The Notice indicates that all New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Courts will remain closed to the public and non-essential employees through May 11, 2020.
As previously reported, the Supervising Judge in each vicinage has been designated an essential employee. These Judges will continue to hear all listed matters via telephonic conferencing and/or videoconferencing when available. In person court appearances will only be permitted for extremely limited and emergent Motions for Medical and Temporary Disability Benefits.
