GRSLBG&B is pleased to announce Diana P. Smithens has joined the Firm’s Litigation Department as an Associate in our New York Office. Diana concentrates her practice in General Liability. She represents clients, both self-insured and through their insurance companies, in the defense of these claims.
Diana graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo with her B.A. in 2007 and received her law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 2010. While in law school, Diana was an Academic Enrichment Program Teaching Assistant. She was the recipient of the John Feerick Memorial Scholarship and the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award. In 2011, Diana was selected to join Fordham’s Community Economic Development clinic which served non-profit organizations and low-wage workers looking to develop businesses. From 2010 to 2011, Diana served as a Graduate Research Fellow at Fordham and helped found the law school’s Neuroscience and Law Center.
Prior to joining GRSLBG&B, Diana practiced law as a senior associate at a leading New York City defense firm where she specialized in complex products liability and toxic tort litigation. Diana also has experience handling a variety of matters involving consumer fraud, New York State Labor Law, and federal labor and employment law. Diana is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association. Diana is admitted to practice in New York.
